The UCCB is increasing for children under the age of six Effective January 1, 2015; parents will receive a benefit of up to $160 per month for each child under the age of six, up from $100 per month. Parents will receive up to $1,920 per child per year.
The UCCB is also expanding to children aged six through 17. Effective January 1, 2015, parents will receive a benefit of up to $60 per month for children aged six through 17. Parents will receive up to $720 per child per year.
The first enhanced payment will be issued in July 2015 and will include any retroactive payments for the period of January 2015 to June 2015.
In order to receive these benefits you must have applied for and received UCCB or Child Tax Benefit for the child. If you have never applied you can apply using this form:
Form RC66, Canada Child Benefits Application, and send it to your tax centre with the supporting documents
For specific qualifying information visit CRA’s site: https://www.canada.ca/en/services/taxes/child-and-family-benefits.html So for each qualifying child a retro pay amount for January to June 2015 will be paid July 20, 2015 of $360 per child.
Maybe enough to help with the cost of all the summer camps or summer care options available these days.
